Founded in 1983, AIDS Support Group of Cape Cod (ASGCC) is the sole HIV/AIDS organization serving Cape Cod’s communities.
A grass roots consortium of community leaders and volunteers, ASGCC conducts community outreach and prevention campaigns, offers numerous HIV/AIDS services, and hosts events designed to improve HIV/AIDS care.
ASGCC operates a variety of programs; including mental health services, case management, access to state and federal housing programs, and transportation to Boston medical centers. ASGCC manages offices on the mid-Cape and upper-Cape, and the Foley House, the Cape's first housing facility for people living with AIDS. Today, ASGCC is the lead agency for the Tri-County AIDS Consortium (under the Ryan White Care Act Title II), which includes all of Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, and Nantucket.
The mission of the AIDS Support Group of Cape Cod is to maintain and enhance the quality of life of people living with HIV/AIDS. ASGCC provides health education and prevention information via timely and accurate information about STD's, HIV and AIDS. The services and outreach will be consumer driven and family centered, however family is defined.
