FENWAY HEALTH

Fenway Health has been serving the diverse neighborhood of Fenway and greater Boston since 1972 with primary medical care.

In the early 1980’s, after diagnosing the first cases of HIV in New England, Fenway became an international leader in the fight against HIV and AIDS. Today, Fenway is one of the largest providers of free confidential HIV testing in New England and is the region’s largest provider of HIV/AIDS outpatient care.

Fenway also operates HIV/AIDS prevention programs focused on helping HIV-negative individuals stay healthy while also dealing with the emotional impact that HIV has on the individual, family, friends, and community. Other programs help HIV-positive clients, their loved ones, and caregivers deal with the medical, social, financial, and legal aspects of HIV and AIDS.

The mission of Fenway Health is to enhance the physical and mental health of its community, which includes those who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, the people who live and work in our neighborhood, and beyond. Fenway provides high quality, comprehensive health care in a welcoming environment. The health center seeks to improve the overall health of the larger community, locally and nationally, through education and training, policy and advocacy, and research and evaluation.
